Description

Wayland's Smithy is a Neolithic chambered long barrow located near Ashbury in Oxfordshire, UK, about a mile off the Ridgeway, an ancient long-distance path crossing several counties along the Chilterns.

14 people were interred here between 3590 and 3550 BC, and around 3400 BC a larger barrow was constructed on top.

This is a close-up of the orignal chamber entrance.
